The little hamlet of Lower Bilbrook is just off the A39 Taunton to
Minehead coast road, in West Somerset.
Lower Bilbrook is just
over a mile from the sea at Blue Anchor. There is a good
beach here and good sea fishing.
The ancient village of Dunster with its fairy tale castle
(National Trust) and famous yarn market is just 3 miles
west. The village also has many tea shops and a National
Park Visitor Centre.
The seaside town of
Minehead is a mile further west from Dunster, with its large range of shops, beach, harbour, indoor
swimming pool etc.
The West Somerset Steam Railway which runs through 20 miles
of beautiful countryside passes by Cherry Tree Cottage just a
100 yards down the lane. The railway connects Minehead
with Bishops Lydeard (near Taunton). Full details can be

The Exmoor National Park is also just a few miles west.
The park covers 267 square miles and features wild, open, heather
covered moors, deep wooded combes and steep spectacular
cliffs. Wild ponies and red deer roam free. There
are hundreds of footpaths and bridleways to suit every rambling
ability.
The county town of Taunton is a short drive east with its
many shops, theatre, cinema, cricket ground and a number of
interesting museums.
The drive takes one past the western
side of the Quantock Hills where there are also many interesting
